We made it!

We biked 2,300 Km (1,350 miles) in 34 days of actual riding! from Greece to Estonia...we still have a bit more to enter and exit the ferry to Helsinki, ha! We are at the ferry terminal in Tallin, tired but happy. We made a great feat and we are proud we did it. We will continue writing in the Blog some additional experiences and thoughts, as well as posting additional pictures, but for now we wanted to share with all of you, at least a short message so you know we made it!

Thank you to all family members and friends who followed us through the Blog, your support meant a lot to us! and thank you to all the people that we met on our way during these 6 weeks. You enriched our experiences beyond the imaginable.

I am very impressed with the stamina of the two cyclists, and thank you for the wonderful read over the last four weeks. You did indeed take the trip of a lifetime!

  3. Evan here....you know, during week 5 as we pedaled thru the Baltic Countries ["Baltic States" is really politically incorrect!] Norma and I had discussions as to whether or not we would like to keep going if we could. We both felt that with a few days rest we could continue indefinately! Up thru Finland, across to Sweden/Norway.....really, it would be great to just follow the wind on a long trip. It's such a delight to ride with the wind, and such a PAIN to go against it. There were several days when we had the perfect conditions: Sunny but temperate, a bike lane or path, and a strong tailwind. Heaven.
